Perthonality extraordinaire Famous Sharron, or Shaz, who also features at the this year's PCF with her show Famous Sharron's Love Match, agrees. As long as it's her everyone is talking about.

"I take a selfie with someone and say 'I'm going to make you famous'. They also make me famous because they are so excited they tell all their friends. I love my fans and I would be nothing without them. But if I hadn't started saying to people 'Hello darls, I'm the Famous Sharron', I don't think it would have caught on," she says.

"But you haven't really made it until you have haters, and I need more of those. Take Kim Kardashian, a pioneer in many ways. If everybody who loved her just loved her, she'd only be a bit famous. The haters put the hot air into her hot-air balloon. And I'll know I've hit a new level of fame once I've got a strong troll group happening for me."

Shaz is also remarkable for her resilience.

"If I feel a bit down, like when I post a picture and only get 100 likes. Rather than thinking 'I'm only getting 100 likes, I'm not posting good photos', I think 'How can I post a better photo next time? How can I get 200 likes?" In this, she is an inspiration to us all, and is recognised as such by her adoring fans.

"Being me is wonderful. I'm like a Lindt ball: everybody loves me."

The Sunday Times 4 Fave Things

Famous Sharron is 'very famous for nothing at all' and will be performing her show 'Famous Sharron's Love Match' at the Hellenic Club of WA on April 27-29 as part of Perth Comedy Festival 2018. For more information, visit www.perthcomedyfestival.com

Totes Famous

If you have met me you'll know I'm a Shazpiration. Last year I released my first famous fashion label. It features all my fave sayings like 'don't get jealous, get famous' and 'pose like everyone is watching', but my fave is 'totes famous' on a tote bag. It's our best seller at www.famousfashionlabel.com.

Skull Money Box

I had designer Lisa Tonkin in one of my shows with Gamble Breaux from the Real Housewives of Melbourne. She was such a doll and showered me in gifts from her design range. I love the little sparkle - I've kept it for years. I hope it's what mine would look like if you X-rayed it.

Spotlight

I always carry my own spotlight so I have the right lighting for photos. I've taken over 30,000 selfies and I want people to love themselves in those photos! A good light makes it just right.

Britney Spears Perfume

You have to smell good to look good. I always release a bit of 'good luck, Britney' before any show.

Nail Varnish Insta-Dry

Sometimes I'm doing so many events I don't have time for my weekly manicure, and nail polish takes about a year to dry so I use this Insta-Dry stuff to speed it up to a few minutes.  If your house ever gets flooded just pour this everywhere, it works a dream.

Famous Sharron Necklace

People often ask how I got famous for nothing at all, and my secret is I didn't keep it a secret. I just started telling people I was Famous Sharron and now here I am. You have to be the fame you want to see in the world.

Bangle

This was given to me by a Shaz-fan. She bought it overseas and gifted it to me in the most beautiful box for no reason except that she loved me! I've been given so many beautiful things by fans and I'll never get sick of getting presents. Oh what's that over there? It looks like I dropped a hint.

Bonnie v Shaz: Love All

Did I want to meet Bonnie Davis or Famous Sharron?

That the question was asked proves how much selfie-queen Sharron has taken over Bonnie’s life.

Bonnie arrived, her face wiped clean of Sharron’s heavy make-up, plonked herself down and said with a grin, “It’s so nice to sit, relax and talk about myself for a change!

“Everyone wants to talk to Shazza these days.”

Famous Sharron is Bonnie’s alter ego. She’s a media darling, Perthonality, relationship expert and Instagram model. She’s the Kardashian of WA, famous because she says she is, and with serious aspirations to conquer the world.

And she has become her own marketing machine.

Bonnie grew up in West Leederville with open-hearted parents who took in an endless stream disaffected and drug-addicted young people.

For a while Bonnie’s chaotic home life was the subject of her stand-up comedy – until it all became too much.

“My stand-up comedy was so sad it made people cry,” she said. “Then I took the show to Edinburgh. It was emotionally and financially ruinous.”

Depressed and unwell, she told herself this is not what she wanted and this was not how it should be.

Sharon (with only one “r”) emerged when Bonnie was asked to MC a Hollywood- styled event. She decided to do it in character, though she didn’t really know who that character was, what she would say or how she would behave.

“I remember being backstage cursing myself for my stupidity,” Bonnie admitted.

But Shazza emerged as a talent agent who could make other people famous. She was gregarious and bitchy – especially about Bonnie.

Slowly Bonnie began to recognise that the increasingly kinder and more rounded Perthonality, Famous Sharron (the second “r” is silent) was taking all her work.

“I tried a bit of stand-up as me, but I struggled,” Bonnie admitted. “Everyone wanted Shazza – she’s warm, positive, funny, and people respond to us differently.

“People feel joy around her.

“Some people are disappointed when I de-Shaz.”

Bonnie is a charming, generous-hearted and savvy woman who never forgets her father’s belief that we are all born with an emotional bank balance that we contribute to or borrow from, as needed.

“Making people feel good is such a great job,” Bonnie said.

And she’s quite happy to disassociate from Sharron and allow herself to do what Sharron wouldn’t dream of doing – walk around unnoticed.

“It’s easier to be her,” Bonnie admitted. “She’s a parody of a satire, she’s a joke but people genuinely love her and when she promises she’ll make everyone famous, they end up making her more famous.”

It’s a self-perpetuating juggernaut.

Famous Sharron has her very own leggings (Sheggings) with her face plastered all over them and a fashion label of inspirational quotes including: Be the Fame You Want to See in the World, Pose Like

Everyone’s Watching and Don’t Get Jealous, Get Famous!

Now married for the third time, with four kids and a dog, Sharron is a celebrant and relationship expert and is taking time out of her hectic social media schedule to bring love to her fans IRL – “in real life” – at the Perth Comedy Festival.

Famous Sharron’s Love Match will attempt to bring audience members together. Singles, happy (or not) couples and mixed doubles are all welcome to see if Sharron can ace a love match or call it a dead rubber!

Sharron makes a momentary appearance: “If you love yourself as much I love me, everyone wins!”

Take Five

I love... my fans so much, and I wouldn't be as famous as I am without them. I always try to see them IRL (in real life) after shows to get selfies with them. That way I can make them a bit more famous too. One fan I got a selfie with was recognised in a kebab shop the next day so it can mean big things.

I loathe... not having the right lighting for photos, so I always carry my own spotlight. I've taken over 30,000 selfies and I want people to love themselves in those photos, so I always carry my own spotlight. I've taken over 30,000 selfies and I want people to love themselves in those photos, so good light makes it just right!

I will... always shop at Morley Galleria, even when I'm world famous. There are rumours of a reality show and so many people are telling me to move to Sydney or Melbourne. Perth will always be my home though - I'll still be Shazza from the block, even if I used to have a Getz and now I have a yacht.

I won't... wear greys and blacks without colour.

I wish... more people would be the fame they want to see in the world. You just have to put yourself into your selfie and the world is your catwalk. Don't get jealous, get famous!
